Head of Protein Production Core Facility (m/f/div)

Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry (MPIB) Martinsried are looking for an experienced and highly motivated scientist (m/f/div) to lead a well-established protein production core facility. The facility uses expression systems in microbial hosts and eukaryotic systems, provides very high-quality service and reagents in protein production to the users, and remains cutting-edge by adopting and developing new methods.

The successful candidate (m/f/div) has a PhD in biochemistry, structural biology or similar fields, a proven record and passion in protein science, and a commitment to high quality. We welcome applicants (m/f/div) with interest in developing methods to improve the throughput of the service and to extend the facility’s method portfolio. In addition, we expect the successful candidate (m/f/div) to have excellent project and people management skills. You will act as the customer’s primary contact to this service and will be discussing project strategy and design with the end users. You will oversee the work of a small team and we expect a high level of initiative.

The salary level will be according to TVöD (Bund) (public salary scale). The initial contract will be for two years, with the possibility for extension into a permanent assignment.
