Protein Scientist in the Protein Technologies Unit, Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG), Barcelona

The Protein Technologies Unit at the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) wish to recruit a Protein Scientist.
The role
The postholder will be working with the team of the Protein Technologies Unit (ProTech Unit) to manage and support the production and characterization of recombinant proteins related to the newly granted Horizon project and will be expected to operate a broad spectrum of instrumentations necessary for protein expression, purification, and biomolecular interaction analysis. The role will also involve the development and implementation of new service and quality control protocols. In addition, the postholder will respond to requests and bookings through our tracking system (AGENDO), and place orders through the institute’s purchasing system.
About the Protein Technologies Unit
The ProTech Unit is part of the institute’s Core Technologies Programme and a member of the European excellence alliances of core facilities Core for Life and P4eu. We are in the PRBB building and we provide researchers at CRG, external academic institutions, and private companies with a state-of-the-art technology platform and broad knowledge and expertise to perform DNA assembly, protein production and interaction analysis of biomolecules. Some of the equipment are endowed with various degrees of automation. The Unit is a team of 6 Protein Specialists, that contribute to high impact research, as shown in recent publications (e.g., Nat Commun. 2022, 2020, 2019, 2018, Science 2016).
