Ondrej VanekParticipantDear P4EU colleagues,
as was announced earlier, it is my great honor to invite you this December to Prague for the next P4EU meeting! The meeting will take place in the newly established institute BIOCEV (www.biocev.eu). The institute is located a bit further from the city, however, we will take care of transport for you, so don’t worry about that. The plan is to have a meeting of similar structure as last year in Israel, i.e. mixed lectures from P4EU and local scientists for ca one and half day + enough time for a session just for P4EU internal stuff and discussions. So it would mean to arrive a day earlier, go out together for an informal dinner to the city center, next morning meet at a given meeting point for group transfer to BIOCEV, where we would stay for full day including lunch and dinner and beer…, and probably taxi back to your hotel; and the same the last day, where after lunch or during afternoon you may either leave directly for the airport, or return and stay longer in Prague. The original plan was to do it on Thursday – Friday 7.-8. December thus allowing for possible weekend in Prague and cheep Xmas shopping, tasting our famous “trdelník” in the Old town Christmas market, and so on;)
Unfortunately, as it happens at the same time there is molecular interaction conference going on in Eilat in Israel (link) where some of our Instruct / iNEXT / Israeli fellows may wanna go (and myself too, if possible). So there is a question if we are able to find another suitable date not clashing with this conference – or stick to the original one. It would be great to have as many of you here in Prague as possible, therefore I have prepared a Doodle poll here:
https://doodle.com/poll/t3qdix2yegd5tkxf
Could you please fill in your availability in December at your earliest convenience so we can fix the date finally? Also, you may use comments below the poll to suggest if you are willing to give a talk (or write me an email) – please, don’t be shy!;) Last but not least, if you cannot make it to Prague this time (which I would strongly NOT recommend – just imagine missing all the fun and cheers and beers:), you may still indicate your unavailability in the poll so we at least know that you are alive and active part of the network and we may hope to see you on next occasion.
Hoping to see very many of you in Prague this time,
Ondrej

Ondrej VanekParticipantDear P4EU colleagues,
based on the results of Doodle poll and also on availability of local people here the dates of the next P4EU meeting in Prague have been fixed to 11.-12. 12. 2017. I will shortly update you on travel and accommodation options, as well as program – if anyone has not yet filled the poll, please do so using the link above in previous post. Also, we really need some brave people wanting to give a talk, so far there’s just one or two! The core of your talk could be presentation of your lab/facility (important and interesting per se to new and local people) + some super cool new recent stuff of yours;)

Ondrej VanekParticipantHello to everyone,
sorry to be silent for a while – I was too much busy with teaching and organizing other more urgent events, however, everything is smoothly going on, don’t worry!Regarding accommodation – would ca 80,- Eur per night be too much (including breakfast and internet)? I am negotiating group reservation / better price with Park Inn Hotel Prague (https://www.parkinn.com/hotel-prague) that is big enough to hold all of you even in this touristic period before Christmas, close to the city center, the river, and public transport, but most importantly close to the faculty where I am working and thus the meeting point from which we will drive you all to the BIOCEV institute. There is no suitable accommodation at the institute site. If anyone has already made other arrangements, please let me know.
Regarding travel – I assume that you will arrive on Sunday 10th Dec (anytime) and leave on Tuesday 12th Dec in the evening/afternoon. If you would like to come earlier or leave later, please, let me know.
Regarding program – working on it, but we shall start on Monday 11th Dec morning, 9 a.m. by picking you up and group transfer to the institute and finish on Tuesday 12th Dec around 3-4 p.m. – and it is possible to take a taxi from the institute directly to the airport (not that far using highway), or stay another night. I will send preliminary version of the program soon.
Best,
Ondrej-

Ondrej VanekParticipantDear Sharon,
just to clarify, my intention is not to book everything for everyone, but rather provide you with a booking link and some discount code, so all of you can in the end book for yourself, but having better conditions and also possibility to stay at the same place. Hopefully during today. I will then send updated invitation to whole P4EU by email, including these details, since not all are yet registered to this website/forum. It will appear also directly on the P4EU website.

Ondrej VanekParticipantDear colleagues,
let me one more time send my warm invitation to our 12th P4EU meeting “Proteins for Life” in Prague to all of you. Thanks to those who voted in Doodle poll previously and more thanks to those going to present a talk (but more talks is still more than welcome! – and in fact, needed;). The meeting will start on Monday 11th December in the morning, so arrival day before is advisable, and it will end on Tuesday 12th December in the afternoon – please, find attached a preliminary version of the meeting program.Venue
The meeting will be held at BIOCEV Centre (www.biocev.eu) – see attached program. However, there is no suitable accommodation nearby – please, see below instructions on accommodation and transportation.Registration
Please, regardless of whether you voted in Doodle or wrote me in private previously, register yourself by sending an email to registrace@biocev.eu stating your name and affiliation with “P4EU meeting” as the subject; please include also your travel dates, if possible. This will greatly help us in preparing conference badges, catering, and social program. Deadline for registration is 20th November 2017.Accommodation
I have reserved 20 rooms for two nights in Park Inn Hotel Prague (https://www.parkinn.com/hotel-prague) that is very close to our meeting point from which we will drive you all to the BIOCEV Centre. So if you want to stay together within walking distance from both our meeting point and the river, public transport and thus city centre, I recommend to use this hotel. To reserve the room for yourself, please print the attached hotel registration card, fill in all details, scan it and send it by email directly to Ms. Grimmova: eva.grimmova@rezidorparkinn.com from the Park Inn. The price is 98,- Eur per night per room including breakfast, internet and all taxes; the same price apply for single or double occupancy, so it possible to share the room for the same price. In case you need more than two nights from 10th to 12th December, write your requested dates and she will inform you on availability. Should anyone has troubles finding place for his/her dates, please let me know, there are at least two other smaller hotels nearby which may have still some rooms free. If you arrange your accommodation elsewhere, that is fine, I will not be charged – the reservation is valid only until 10th November, afterwards they will sell the rooms to any other guest. So please, reserve it rather sooner than later.Transportation
Regardless of where you will stay, it is critical that both on Monday and Tuesday we will all meet at 8:45 here: https://goo.gl/maps/adFqdQuEx3S2 (Hlavova 2030/8 street, Prague) – you can see the route from the hotel to the meeting point on the map. At 9:00 we will depart and drive you to the BIOCEV Centre (ca 20-30 min drive) to refresh there and start on time at 10 a.m.In case of questions, do not hesitate to contact me using contacts provided below.
Looking forward to meeting many of you in Prague!

Ondrej VanekParticipantDear all,
in few days we will meet in Prague for our next P4EU meeting. With 31 registered participants from P4EU and over 60 participants from local scientific community we are approaching 100 participants and that makes this meeting most probably the biggest P4EU meeting ever. Please, check the final agenda at P4EU website – we have an excellent agenda ahead of us! The transportation will be provided by private bus directly from the hotel, dinner places are reserved and pre-payed, catering fixed, and even your conference badges are already waiting for your arrival.
I will send following updates by email only to the registered participants to avoid spamming all of you.
Greetings still from the currently not so sunny, but dark and windy Eilat,
Ondrej
