Engineer / Research Associate in molecular interaction for screening projects, High Throughput Biology and Screening department, Evotec, Toulouse.
Missions and responsibilities
Under the responsibility of a group leader in the “High Throughput Biology and Screening department”, you will be part of a team responsible for development and realization of molecular interaction project.
Project management
Contribute to screening projects, from assay development to screening campaign: define, execute and/or coordinate experimental processes and data analysis.
Optimize and miniaturize screening assays.
Plan and realize screening campaigns in close collaboration with the group leaders.
Analyze experimental results in their biological context in collaboration with screening teams.
Supports project team by conducting experiments according to defined objectives and agreed timelines.
Ensure compliance to the specifications agreed with the customer
Contribute to the elaboration and the execution of new methodologies and strategies applied to high throughput screening, in particular for biophysics based assays.
May be responsible for maintenance of certain equipment or supplies used in the laboratory.
Prepare slides, study reports and communicate scientific results.
Quality
Ensure quality and reliability of scientific results.
Ensure good laboratory practices and health and safety instructions.

Prepare and execute screening studies according to the specifications agreed with the project team.

Knowledge and abilities :
Required:
Strong expertise in molecular interactions
Excellent background in biophysics technologies (SPR, MST and DSF)
Strong expertise in SPR will be an advantage
Good understanding of biology and biophysics (affinity assay)
Meet good laboratory practices and health and safety instructions.
Transversal team spirit, rigor, dynamism and autonomy.
Excellent communication and organizational skills for managing and presenting results.
Preferred:
Experience in SPR, MST and DSF
Expertize in biophysics
Experimental data interpretation and analysis of large sets of data.
Training and experience
Engineer or Master Degree (M2) or equivalent in biology or chemistry.
2-5 year of experience in academia or industry in biophysics area.
